From 2019-2022: Built a Line of Business Software for a Lighting Distributor Client
From day one, this project was aiming to be a comprehensive, powerful piece of software. During the planning phase, it was described as the digital embodiment of all the processes and methods that made the business run. What it ultimately grew into was an impressive suite of features including intelligent automation, seamless data synchronization and organization, robust customer relationship management, and streamlined ordering and billing systems.
The client was using an outdated database software application that was no longer meeting their evolving needs. They wanted to replace it with a custom-built solution that would be capable of automating their business practices and scaling with their growth. The goal was to create a system that not only replicated existing functionality but enhanced and modernized every aspect of their operations.
Once the main components of the build were complete and the system was stable in production, the client brought onboard a junior developer to assist with ongoing feature development and system maintenance. This addition to the team helped ensure continuity and allowed for continued innovation on the platform.
Kiera left to pursue other exciting opportunities in 2022, and the project was successfully transitioned to a new developer alongside the existing team member, who had grown into a capable, knowledgeable steward for the application. The software continues to serve the client’s needs and remains a testament to thoughtful planning and execution.
